Grand Altunhan Hotel

Horrible experience I arrived at this hotel with my dog and checked in. The receptionist was clearly unfriendly from the beginning. After a short nap, I went out for dinner, and she suddenly stopped me, saying, “By the way, you have to pay 50 leva for the dog.” I was shocked — that’s half the price of the room — and told her she should have informed me during check-in. When I came back later, she insisted I pay immediately. I explained I had no cash and they didn’t accept credit cards, so I would pay at check-out. Later, while I was in my room, already in my underwear and falling asleep, she came with another woman and demanded payment again. I told them we would settle it at check-out. Their response? “Pay now or we call the police.” They actually called the police. When the officers arrived, they clearly didn’t know what to do. The receptionist then told me if I didn’t pay immediately, I had to leave. I said I would rather leave this hotel and asked for a refund — they refused. I left without a refund. This place is a scam

Close to Turkish border. You can rest after long trip. Rooms are quiet good

Receptionists do not speak English There was quite difficult to explain anything Breakfast is „classic” without hot dishes In the middle of night there was wrong fire alarm. That was not guest oriented

The location is perfect and it's a place you can rest, a quiet street near the center. The beds are comfortable.

The variety of styles in the lobby is overwhelming, I recommend a more clean look and not overload with religious symbols of different religions. It feels as a hotchpotch of aesthetic flavors.

I like the room and position of the hotel near to local culture and amenities Staff were helpful and I was glad that they spoke English.

I would have liked a kettle and mugs or cups to make myself a hot drink. (Tea) The room fridge could have been turned on for my arrival with a bottle of water for drinking. I had to get out of bed to turn the room light on /off at night. I would have liked a bedside light or lamp for bedtime reading not just the one central ceiling light. Payment on arrival was in cash only no card payments.

Large rooms. Stuff serving breakfast was nice.

They don’t accept credit or debit cards for payment. Mattresses are very soft. Stuff doesn’t speak English. I was charged €25 for the dog.
