Hotel Terminus Brugg

We were motorcycling the Alps and were finishing our trip just down the road in Aarau, Switzerland. Unfortunately, the skies opened up and it was late so we decided to grab the next available hotel. We see the Hotel Terminus. We parked in front of the entrance and ran inside dodging raindrops. It was late and we were tired but we weren't expecting the hotel to be as expensive as it was. The skies had opened and we had no desire to go anywhere else so we begrudgingly took the room. We took the elevator to our floor (I think it was the 5th) and found the room. It was small and nothing special for that price. The room reminded me of a slightly larger version of a college dorm room. There was no internet in the rooms, that was only in the lobby. The place was clean enough, just not worth what we paid.

I was traveling for training. The hotel is located just across the road from the railway station. I stayed in the non-smoking room while my friends stay in the smoking room. Does not matter if you smoke or not, take the smoking room. It is much closer to the lift & stairs. It didn't smell like it was a smokers room anyway. Breakfast will be at 6am with the usual European style breakfast. The owner is helpful and friendly. He showed us his collection of train sets which is a family collection of 3 generations. The track itself is over a kilometer long. *A must see*. It is near to hills also. I went for a morning run (it was early summer) and the place was beautiful!

I was traveling for business and staying at the Terminus Brugg because of it being very conveniently located. It is literally one minutes walk from the train station and about once an hour there is a train that goes straight to Zürich airport, which is very convenient. There were some renovations going on at the hotel but they really didn't bother me, and the hotel offered you a free bottle of water/coke/beer for every evening as a compensation for the inconvenience. I stayed at the old side, which seemed like there were some original decorations from the 70's or so, nothing that bothered me though and as stated, there is a newer side. Breakfast was included, a standard European continental breakfast with croissants, bread and toppings, yogurt, muesli, cereal and fruit. The hotel is family owned so it has a very welcoming feel to it.

We stayed for 1 week at the Terminus and enjoyed our stay. The room was spotless and quiet with comfortable beds. This is a family owned hotel with a friendly staff. Breakfast was rather sparse by NA standards but typically Swiss. The train station is just in front with a good pub behind and shopping 1 block away. One downside is that there is no internet in the rooms but is available in the lobby.

I was in brugg for business trip. The hotel is good for me. Stayed at the hotel for 3 nights. I booked the hotel online and also through a phone call for confirmation. It was quite a last minute booking. But the booking went smoothly. Arrived at 8:50pm. The hotel reception was only until 9pm and i was well-informed on this. Check-in process was good. Hotel room was okay and comfortable. i have no problem of hearing the noise from train station. I would like to highlight that the location was excellent. just few steps away from the main train station. 1 station to Baden. and also few statiion to Zurich. The rate was reasonable. The breakfast was basic but good enough.

I selected this hotel because my other usual hotel was fully book and Terminus also located just accross Platform 1 on the train station. If you jaywalk from the hotel entrance to platform 1, assuming no traffic on the road, you'll reach platform 1 in 30 seconds. The room is styled with furnitures like the 60s. I shared a balcony with a room next door. The only window that are not facing the balcony is the window at the bathroom. The bed for single was very small (narrow) and pushed against the wall with very rough surface. I scratched my elbow to the wall on the first night. Since there, before bed time, I pulled out the bed to be a bit further from the wall. The gentleman who seems to be the receptionist at the front desk was extremely helpful and very polite. Breakfast is very basic, toasts, jams, sausage, bacon, yogurt, etc. But there are supermarkets within 5 minutes walking distance where you can buy cereal, milk, and lsandwiches for lunch and dinner.
