The Railway Hotel by Barefoot Retreats

We stayed in the railway carriage. We eventually identified the accommodation and found the key to get in but it was not intuitive. Short walk to the pub/restaurant.

Nobody manning the site made things difficult. Very dark in the en-suite and rather cramped. Gravel driveway made moving luggage difficult. Booked this due to the lack of accommodation in Burnham Market but value for money is appalling considering it doesn’t include breakfast.

The situation was perfect and I loved the fact there was a sitting area and garden in addition to the rusted room. All very well thought out and beautiful

Bathrobes and slippers were provided. Lovely and clean, with lovely toiletries

The room was a little bit snug

Accommodation was lovely.

Breakfast would have made it amazing even just cereals, pastries and juices.

The Railway was well located near Burnham Market high street (but not right in it) and communication throughout was good (we received calls pre check-in, post check-in and after our visit to check everything was ok). The room was good, clean and tidy and the extra space (Paddington) made a useful dressing area. The extra facilities (e.g. communal lounge and honesty bar) were clean and quirky.

The parking can be tight, especially if you are the middle space and last into the car park as we were one night.

The location was fine within walking distance of the village. The bedroom was comfortable I liked the allocated parking space eliminated any parking problems. Outside space was very clean and comfortable.

Outside space would benefit from shade and perhaps more plants beautifully furnished but felt a little bare and we were blessed with lovely weather so very hot. I would have like a glass of wine from the honesty bar but only bottles available perhaps small bottles could be available.

There was nothing at all we didn’t not just like but love. The decor, attention to detail and standard of accommodation were faultless. The provision of teas and coffee and water in the room was plentiful and varied and the lovely shower products all just added to the luxury feel.

Everything we needed and more was on offer. Faultless.
