Hotel 119

Convenient location for the theatre and station and easy self access with keys.

The room was predominantly clean and tidy, although not pristine, and there was an odd smell in the room, albeit one that became quickly unnoticeable. My room also had a window looking directly onto the neighbouring balcony, meaning I did feel a little exposed to the neighbours without the blinds closed. Also, the television remote seemed to be broken/ dead batteries.

I liked the location close to the railway station. The singe room was cozy and the bed comfortable, the shared shower was good and clean.

The single toilet being on another floor is not too great. Additionally, the toilet is the only place with a sink to brush your teeth etc., at least an additional washroom somewhere would be a real improvement.

Excellent location for visiting the theatre

Personally A kettle in the room would of been nice but there was a kitchen close by so could make a drink there

119 is a budget hotel, located close to the train station and easily reachable on foot. My friend and I shared a twin room ensuite, while it was basic, it was clean and comfortable. There is a new looking shared kitchen with tea and coffee, microwave etc. This was my second stay at Hotel 119 having also stayed for the Great North Run last year.

Booking.com says last check-in at 7pm, I received a call on the day from the owner to say last check-in was 6pm, as luck would have it, my train was due to arrive into Darlington at 6pm, he seemed a kind man on the phone and I don't believe I would've had any problems with a later arrival given the circumstances.

Location fantastic - 2 minute walk from Darlington train station. The shower is also excellent pressure. Reception very friendly

Whenever we flushed the toilet there would be a terrible smell for ages. The toilet didn't flush at one point either without going into the cistern. The shower door also came off its hinges. Very noisy there were a few people arguing all night and it seems almost like a hostel or for homeless ?
