It’s a decent place that has lost its’ way. The rooms are ok and reasonably equipped, but the focus is not on the accommodation and there’s not enough staff to make the service good.

Breakfast was ok but a lot of it was out of pre-made catering packs. The WiFi in the rooms was unusable and not much better in the main building. Body wash in the showers was watered-down. There were no armchairs in the rooms, and too few coat hangers. The room smelled damp, with broken window closures. Food service was very slow.

Our room was separate from the pub. Very quiet, spotlessly clean, roomy and comfortable. Nice pub with good food.

Bathroom door handle was hanging off , I just loosely screwed it back on , no problem really but I did forget to report this to management so it won’t get fixed

The pub itself is nice (the pub is separate to the hotel rooms). The staff were friendly and helped us get a taxi. It was a good location for our purposes (visiting for a family event in Kirkburton). We enjoyed our pub meal and the waiting and bar staff were attentive.

The bathroom had not been cleaned properly. There was a tampon wrapper on the floor and marks and hair on the toilet bowl. This was horrible to check in to. We had no time to raise with staff as we had to get to an event and so moving rooms would not have been an option, the staff were also busy running the pub so the hotel seemed to take second priority to that when waiting at the desk. There was a suggestion box for housekeeping tips but no pen or paper to provide these. We had booked a double and it was set up as a twin. Some of the taxi numbers in the room info were no longer valid. The hotel building is not as nice as the pub, it is tired and shabby. These were minor issues that we could have overlooked in isolation but combined with a dirty loo they amounted to a visit that did not meet our expectations. It was disappointing because it would have been a good spot to stay over to visit family on future trips.

Room was small for the amount paid and the drains smelt a bit in the bathroom plus very hard mattress

We loved everything, food was very tasty, room was airy and clean , lovely peaceful location, idyllic scenery ,will definitely stay again 😁

Two downfalls were that I ordered sirloin steak which was exceptional but i was disappointed that it only was accompanied with a tomato and a few chips i expected more due to the price, also cooked breakfast only had smoked bacon on menu, other than that everything else was perfect
