St Elmo Hotel

Very Basic Budget Hotel. Furniture dated and Missing handles. TV in Bedroom useless. No Aerial Connection anywhere.

Lovely hotel and so close to the pleasure beach which was so convenient, as we were let down at the last minute by our previous hotel so was so happy with the availability at such short notice.

The mattress was not very comfortable do didnt sleep much and the material under the kettle needed changing, and a small fridge would have been very convenient with having children with us.

I didn't select the breakfast option.

Door of the room didn't close easily and initially didn't lock until a member of staff fixed it. Room and hotel in general felt very worn out, although it met my immediate needs it wasn't somewhere I'd spend more time than I had to.

The first room my daughter got had no electric so was moved to another room which had wallpaper pealing off walls and didn’t have a working tv as they all run off indoor antenna Ariel’s and there wasn’t one in that room , showers were mouldy and the rooms were dusty (I’m not the type of person to run my finger over a door frame) I mean dust that’s visible from being sat on your bed ! That is if you even sit on the bed because honestly if we had of had any other option we would of left immediately but due to the air show nowhere had spaces available, I really cant say enough how bad this hotel is , it feels like it was a lovely hotel that got abandoned in the 80s and somebody’s just found the keys and decided to let the rooms !

Location was good, close to a shop, breakfast places and tram stop.

Cold shower and sink tap, carpet is offcuts in 4 pieces and stapled down, but doesnt fit ended up with staple in one of our feet. TV never worked in one of the rooms even after 2nd aerial was provided (second one was provided at 11pm on our last night). Toilet seat loose. Headboard for one of the beds was not fixed(photo)asked about problems on saturday but staff struggled to understand me. Asked for my father and his partner to be on a low level as they struggle with stairs. Was told this was fine and booked them on floor 1 and myself and my partner on floor 2, perfect. We arrived and were given keys to a room on floor 1 and 2. I took the lift with my partner, while doing that the staff member took the floor 1 key off of my father, told him no wrong room, and provided one another floor up, in which they still had to take some stairs to get to the room, and zero explanation was offered. At one point I walked passed a staff room and the hallway stunk of cigarette smoke. My room was also full of stains, in the bathroom, floor, mattress.

The location the staff was very helpful

Still a little bit out dated parking very difficult

Staff really friendly

Everything excellent just 1 think you can give more pillows 😉
