"Excellent, the only word."

We loved everything about this place. The room was great, clean and well equipped. Breakfast was good, dinner was great. The very young waiter at dinner was very good but devoid of any sense of humour, but very nice, the chef/manager (?) was unusual but very pleasant. The lady running the place was lovely in every way. We will definitely be back.

There was nothing 'not to like'.

The Golden Lion was delightful, the staff very helpful and friendly, made you feel at home , so relaxing , the food was excellent and nothing was too much trouble , so welcoming,

"A wonderful couple of days at the Golden Lion."

Excellent family run hotel and restaurant. We spent 2 nights at the Golden Lion visiting the area for a family wedding. What a great surprise we had, truly charming The staff and owners definitely make everyone very welcome. Excellent restaurant with a lovely menu. Excellent relaxing bar area and most likely the nicest Old Fashioned cocktail I have had. Our room was very comfortable, fresh and clean. A spacious car park and tasty breakfast. Perfect. We look forward to returning soon.

"Above and Beyond"

Absolutely fantastic, We received a warm welcome with a great big smile from Caroline. Caroline could not have done more to make us feel welcome and comfortable. An example of a fantastic host. The room was cosy and well cleaned. I can see there are signs of wear and tear but nothing unreasonable. We had breakfast twice and every time it was perfect, lovely fresh ingredients and made fresh. We also had dinner and again very nice and fairly priced. I can't recommend this place enough. Nice little quiet spot great for a short stop over or a longer break away from the crazy world we live in. I will definitely be back.

Everything was perfect, nothing to complain about.
