The location on Sidmouth seafront is excellent - beautiful sea views and a short walk from Esplanade restaurants and bars. Close to the town centre, the hotel offers excellent access to all local activity. The welcome was great and the staff both friendly and helpful.

There was no warning given in the advertising material or during the booking process that the building offered little in the way of easy access for people with mobility issues. There are high steps and heavy doors at both main entrances making entry and access difficult and uneven floors with unexpected slopes and trip hazards throughout the building. Some basic work on the premises could alleviate this - and if that option is considered too difficult or too expensive then some warning in the information material so that customers know what to expect and can choose alternatives in necessary.

I'm always looking out for a single room at a good price and finding one with a sea view was such a treat. My room could not have been closer to the sea and the waves crashing were very soothing. Pyne's bar is extremely comfortable and very pleasant.

I liked the price, I booked at very short notice as I wasn't enjoying my stay at another nearby hotel, I won't expect that price again but I shall definitely return!
