"King room wasn’t fit for a pauper."

In the town centre

Shower head kept falling on the floor as the rail for it was broken. Bathroom smell was very bad. Extractor didn’t work and no ventilation. Flush on toilet was terrible. Bed was uncomfortable. “King room” turned out to just have a normal double bed, with no storage or wardrobe. The size of the bed was stated in advert, but paying extra for “king room” is misleading. Not sure what the “king” part was referring to. Breakfast was great but service was poor. Wouldn’t stay again as massively overpriced for the standard of room. Wouldn’t have been happy to pay £80 for the night. I payed more than double that.

Location Comfy bed Breakfast was good

The room was in need of some tlc paint work, cobwebs, window cleaning, hole in carpet. Breakfast took far too long to arrive, no salt in salt pots had to ask for tea spoons & coffee kept running out. Downstairs overwhelming smell of stale urine. None of it bad enough to complain nor did it ruin our stay in Rothbury but sadly we wouldn’t rush to come back

Bed was comfy and clean and warm enough. Water was hot.

4 flights of stairs. Separate shower in tiny corner of room which was so dark. Very basic amenities. Very old and tired. Breakfast was just ok. Just warm.
