The Upper Largo Hotel & Restaurant

Perfect location for a bus ride to St. Andrews. Friendly and helpful staff. Great breakfast.

Small bathroom close to bed but would maybe book apartment next visit.

Billed 4 star hotel, but it wasn’t. That said, it was very clean and comfortable. Staff were exceptionally lovely and the food was amazing. The beach and gorgeous view literally a short stroll from hotel and plenty of parking.

The road noise was constant. Not much that can be done but it did affect sleep.

Good location and food was good

Our room was right next to the main road and you could hear the traffic through the night.

The windows and doors are old, extremely draughty and in need of repair. There was a storm the weekend we stayed which also joined us in the apartment. There was a water leak (perhaps from the window or through the wall) in the bedroom. The carpet and one of the twin beds was soaked and unusable. It wasn’t discovered until we were going to bed. When reported to the staff they offered clean bedding but as the bed and surrounding carpet were soaked, this was no help. We weren’t offered an alternate solution or room. They just said they’d let the day staff know. The next morning as we checked out, there was no manager available and the day staff said they would pass it on when the manager arrived. I was told they may offer a discount. None has been offered. I appreciate that this is an old building and with the charm that brings there are high costs in the upkeep. Perhaps some secondary glazing and door draught excluders would help.

Restaurant. Evening menu and food was excellent and great value. Quilt on bed.

Great food efficient and friendly staff lovely facilities everyone we dealt with couldn’t do enough to help as other have said breakfast is brilliant as were evening meals special mention for the sole dish

Upper Largo hotel was very clean.Coffee and tea provided and also 2 cans of still water and 2 tunnocs caramel wafers.Also the bath towels were quite big which we never have seen in another hotel before.Bed size was super king . Although,our room was over the main road ,it wasnt annoying noisy.

Bathroom was at the small side but at least there was one in the room

The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was good, including a freshly prepared and hearty breakfast. The location was ideal for exploring the Fife Coastal Path.

Our room was a little on the small side, though it was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed.

Very friendly and cosy hotel. Meals were excellent including an enormous Full Scottish Breakfast. Rooms are small but fine if you are staying a few nights. We were walking the Fife Coastal Path so good public transport connections to the hotel. The staff were very helpful and ordered a taxi for us in the morning when we needed to make an unscheduled diversion to Kircaldy at short notice.

Could do with a new mattress!
