Stoke Place- Part of the Cairn Collection

We have stayed at this hotel, for a few years on the trot, when going to Ascot races, the grounds are absolutely stunning and well maintained, the staff are very friendly and its a lovely breakfast.

Unfortunately the room we had looked very tired, dent in the wall from the door, it deffinantly needed some tlc, the air-conditioning wasn't working and the carpet was sodded from a leaking radiator, bottled water is also not supplied in the rooms anymore. The night reception did bring us a fan and some water, in the morning we reported the leak etc and we were given a discount.

Great breakfast with attentive staff. Beautiful grounds.

Was expecting a room in the main hotel, not in the chalets 100 metres away. These need a major update/refurb. Outdated, basic furniture and noisy aircon units stuck on the wall like an afterthought. No real privacy without drawing the blinds. No comfy rugs or carpeting, just a wooden floor. Worth half the money paid.

We had booked for an event locally so the location was great. The grounds are beautiful and the bed was comfortable.

Disappointed that the hotel was run down, considering it is such a beautiful building the interiors were lacking somewhat. The seats in the bar area were very dilapidated and are in desparate need of upgrading. The bathroom in our bedroom had been recently upgraded sink, shower and toilet but paintwork was shabby and actually dirty along the skirtings. Paintwork was chipped and flaking, leak marks on the ceiling and the receptionist told us that breakfast started at 8am on Sunday which is the time that we needed to leave for our conference. After some discussion they agreed that we could have breakfast at 7.45am which was appreciated.

Great location, rooms were comfortable. Food in the restaurant was surprisingly of a very good quality and good value for money. There was a singer performing in the evening but sadly not many customers.

Food and beverage staff (evening) in the bar and restaurant were a bit confused and were causing a lot of chaos. The restaurant waiter took our order and had to come back to ‘verify’ everything we ordered and told us the wine we ordered isn’t available. The breakfast staff however very good.
