Pretty location - nice grounds with lake.

Needs a lot of maintenance work in lots of the public rooms. A big hole in the dining room floor could be dangerous to guests. No air conditioning in any of the bedrooms. The separate garden rooms need maintenance work done on the outside, very shabby. Once inside these rooms the heat hits you hard! Only one of our rooms had air conditioning - the other rooms were like ovens so we had to sleep with the door open and it was still uncomfortably stifling hot. The garden rooms had very comfortable beds with beautifully clean bedding but again nothing has been updated or maintained. The tiled floor of our walk-in shower was ‘bouncing’ as, over time, water has collected underneath. Felt like the floor was moving. Hanging space for maybe three garments in the bedroom so, for two people sharing, this isn’t enough. The guy on reception isn’t too helpful but the two ladies serving breakfast made up for him! The evening meals are not good value for money and they are NOT the meals shown on their website. Small portions and they looked, tasted and felt microwaved.

The room definitely need a change of carpets and the for the price I paid the room was not up to the mark in terms of cleanliness.

Very nice place, picturesque. Room was ok, getting a bit old in places, toilets roll holder was falling off the wall.

I booked the room as a rest from the heat as I work away in my van mostly. There was no air conditioning or should I say it was an extra charge. Do they charge for heating in the winter as well! In the current weather it’s a bit false or profiteering.

Very run down, room was poor quality for price.

We have stayed at this hotel, for a few years on the trot, when going to Ascot races, the grounds are absolutely stunning and well maintained, the staff are very friendly and its a lovely breakfast.

Unfortunately the room we had looked very tired, dent in the wall from the door, it deffinantly needed some tlc, the air-conditioning wasn't working and the carpet was sodded from a leaking radiator, bottled water is also not supplied in the rooms anymore. The night reception did bring us a fan and some water, in the morning we reported the leak etc and we were given a discount.
