Novo Hotel Chongqing

I chose this hotel based upon its location close to Chongqing North Railway station. The name of the hotel was changed recently to the NOVO Hotel and that is what is displayed once you find the place. A taxi dropped us off in the vicinity of the address we provided but there are no signs visible of the hotels entrance. I was fortunate enough to have a wife that can speak Mandarin so after asking some shop owners we were able to find an entrance to a lift lobby in the centre of a high rise building and went up to the 12th floor. When the lift doors opened, there was a well lit sign that displayed NOVO HOTEL. The reception desk was manned by a young lady that had no English skills so it was over to my wife to get us checked into our room. The hotel occupies the entire 12th floor and has been fully renovated to a high standard and has been decorated in very pleasing and relaxing tones throughout. Our room was reasonably large and contained two comfortable double beds, flat screen TV and decent bathroom. The owner and his staff prepare an adequate buffet breakfast that was included in the price of the room and was surprisingly tasty. We found all of the staff to be very helpful and can easily recommend this hotel to others looking for a short stay. There are plenty of taxis available and the staff offered their assistance by calling a Didi (similar to Uber). We needed a large 7 seat van for all of our luggage when we checked out and the staff ordered the vehicle and helped us to take the bags downstairs and load them into the car. Excellent value here.
