Exceptional views and very helpful host Willy

A bit too spartan

Loved it, loved the place, view, staff, peacefulness. You can't find it in many places in the world.

Food and room was good for Costa Rica remote area standards. The jolly owner Willy also happily adjusted to our vegetarian needs quickly and got creative with off-menu meals. Good vibes, no music blaring at meals and very quiet in general. Stayed 14 days - Location great for exploring forests to the north (Drake Bay) and south (Pedrillo Ranger station) without guides. Beaches are amazing. More than 25 from big to tiny. I recommend to take the the more expensive rooms with bathroom and shower in the room.

Rooms could have more hooks for hanging moist clothes, and a mirror to shave, but Willy said our room was still not quite finished. One aesthetic note: At the dinning area, After sunset, one of 4 bright lamps was a soothing warm yellow, while the others were daylight bulbs. My recommendation to the Willy is to change them all to warm yellow.. much better for evening mood.

Wonderful place, the family took great care of us and helped in every way they could. We had two small children and they enjoyed the environment, food and interaction with the children of the family. The beaches are phenomenal and overall just a magical place. Happy to have chosen to go a bit further than Drake bay where most people stay - since we often felt like the only people in the world on our explorations.

The beds are not great (either way too stiff or to soft) - but overall good value for money.

Willy and the family were amazing. Everyone was really helpful, friendly, and made us feel at home in a remote location. They helped with the local activities, the food was good and made to order, and it was great to relax with a drink at sunset. A bit of a hill down but definitely worth the less than 10 minute walk to the secluded beach.
