Samara Palm Lodge

Great place to stay, the owners were very friendly, everything was well cared for, the room was great, and the pool was a nice bonus. Breakfasts in the morning were affordable and delicious! We appreciated the candid and thoughtful advice of the owners. We'd happily stay there again.

There wasn't anything to complain about! The Samara Palm Lodge was beautiful, easy to check-in, and had a great pool. Breakfast in the morning was an additional fee, and worth it - we got it daily.

Location was what I needed. The owners were extremely nice. Lovely continental breakfast.

The owners are very nice and very helpful. The pool area is inviting and the premises were well-maintained and very clean. They made our stay in Samara better.

What. A. Gem. I felt like I was staying with some cousins and friends. Marguerite took the time to show me a map she had made up showing the different places to eat, etc. in town. The main parts of the beach and “town” are all within about a 1 km walk. She was so chill, calming, etc. I felt like I was getting a body energy counseling session just being with her in the office talking about the area. Motif is beach/wood/flowers/shells. Limited furnishings, but I wasn’t in the room much and didn’t need all the trappings of a standard hotel. One really nice touch was that Marguerite had put flower petals and sea shells on the bed and in the bathroom on the rug, toilet lid and sink. Such a nice touch. The pool was fantastic. Clean and perfect temperature. No dedicated parking, but parking on the street was no problem. Just keep valuables in your room.

It had a pool

Extremely noisy. Property is located a few feet from the main road next to a one lane bridge. The room walls are thin and the windows are not sealed, so there is excessive noise starting about 5am. Everything in the room is cheap and dated. A true 2 star experience. I feel deceived as I read through the reviews and there were few complaints, but it is hard to believe they weren’t tampered with. The manager is very rigid and does not seem to have any interest in creating an enjoyable experience. He insists on the earliest checkout in the area and charges 10 dollars per person for an average breakfast. I left there more tired than when I arrived.

The landscaping is super pretty at the property. The pool is very well-maintained and clean. The owners are friendly and very nice, they provided what we needed during the stay and beyond. The porch seating is nice and convenient right by our room. We enjoyed having coffee by the porch. The breakfast was great too!
