Hotel La Principessa

We stayed in the Hotel Principessa Hameln during July 2013 and found it to be charming and comfortable with friendly helpful staff. There is no lift so anyone on the upper floors may struggle with luggage. We were on the ground floor and found our room to be comfortable and reasonably cool during the warm weather we experienced. The only drawback we experienced was the reluctance to change the towels which appeared to be small and few in number There is no bar although there are room fridge/bars but there are some good bars and restaurants in the immediate area. The eating area is good as is the standard of food available. We recommend the hotel for the service / price and location.

We stayed in Hameln on route to Denmark. We had booked a family room so our two young kids could be with us; but the room was not available. We were put into two separate rooms, which was made suitable due to the floor being set aside for us - however we were not going to leave our kids on their own, so as parents we had to separate....not a big deal, but not what we expected. The hotel was in a great location - right in the city centre. The hotel staff were very helpful. The night we stayed in Hameln was very hot - 30 degrees celsius but there was no cooling in the room and windows were no real help to circulate air- a bad night sleep was had by all. The breakfast was plentiful and with much variety. Overall the hotel was lovely, but the poor sleep due to the heat was a let down.

I booked the suite and hoped for the best. My gosh... I am apparently the luckiest girl in the world. We showed up totally sleep deprived. Went up 3 flights to a fantastic suite. However, I freaked out because the higher we went the hotter it got! The front desk receptionist patiently showed us two other rooms although honestly I WAS the irrational American! I finally calmed down, passed out, and woke up SO glad we kept our SWEET suite. Stay here, stay here, stay here. Seriously...

I stayed here for one night when I went to visit the Christmas market and overall I was very impressed by the hotel. The room wasn't massive but it didn't feel cramped. There was a big bed which, whilst a bit creaky, was very comfortable. The room was incredibly clean and the decor was in good order. Breakfast was really good with a big selection to choose from. My only issues were that there were a couple of holes in one of the bed sheets which you don't really expect from somewhere listed as 3 stars and the fridge in the room was very noisy.

The hotel is on walking distance of the old city centre, which is known for the "Rat catcher" fairy tail. Hameln is a typical German city having those characteristics of architecture and breathing the German atmosphere. The hotel itself is very modest, clean and the breakfast is ok I think the price / quality level is in balance.

Had an overnight stop here on way home from Poland. Lovely hotel right in the heart of the town. Lots of eateries nearby and loads of history around. Rooms were clean and comfortable, breakfast was excellent with plenty to choose from . Would recommend.
