Hotel im Sonnental

We had a very pleasant stay at Hotel im Sonnental. The hotel is located in a charming little village, just a short walk from the beautiful Walchensee lake. The owner was extremely kind and helpful throughout our stay. There is also a small café attached to the hotel, run by the owner, where you can get coffee or breakfast. Our apartment was clean and comfortable, and the kitchen had the essentials (a few pots, cutlery, etc.). The price was absolutely fair! A big plus is that, with your booking, you receive the Königscard, which gives you free access to many excellent activities in the area. We used it to enjoy free entry to the Therme in Kochel — a fantastic experience!

We appreciated the soap in the bathroom, but dishwashing liquid in the kitchen would have been helpful. While understandable, it’s worth noting that the kitchen lacks basic supplies like oil, salt, and sugar — so you’ll need to bring or buy them locally. The apartment lacks of a balcony. The Wi-Fi relies on the public municipal network, so it works ok but it's not particularly fast.

The room was large and nice, with comfortable bad and proper furniture. There was not any noise from outside. The breakfast room is nice and homely.

We have only some suggestions: 1. The doors are a bit thin, hence noises come inside from the floor. It would be a great development a noise isolation on the doors of the room. The doors of the floor should close silently. 2. The breakfast is good but after a few days it becomes boring, so it would be better few other opportunity in the morning menu. 3. The wifi is not strong enough, please develop it. 4. There is not fridge in the rooms, it would be useful.

An excellent place for tourism, recreation and entertainment. The hosts are friendly and welcoming. The room is clean and comfortable. The hotel itself is next to the cleanest lakes, where you can go SUBbording, swimming and have a good time. For cyclists there are excellent trails with unforgettable views.
