Victoria, who manages the hotel, was very welcoming and friendly. This was the second time I've stayed here, because I knew it offered me everything I needed (an inexpensive overnight stay on a long journey). The hotel's placed right next to a sandy beach on the river Tormes, which is used for bathing. The room had plenty of space, and a small balcony overlooking the river. Because it is in a small village, there is no issue with leaving luggage in the car, as it's very unlikely to attract thieves. I parked the car in front of the hotel, and it was even shaded by trees! Being only a very few kilometers from the historic city of Salamanca, Bardal de Huerta could easily be used as a base to explore the city.

There is a bar/restaurant attached to the hotel, which was open on my first visit, but not on this visit. No meals are available in the hotel, but there is a communal kitchen and dining room, which guests can use to make their own meals. For those wanting to dine out, there is a rustic restaurant within a few minutes walking distance in the village, offering basic, tasty evening meals at inexpensive prices.
