The Marine Hotel

Location can’t be beat, views from rooms & super walkable. End room (top of stairs) was spacious! Surprisingly quiet rooms, being above the pub. A highlight: Kerr in the bar was freaking amazing, he spent a ton of time making personalized recommendations for us for whiskies & Flemish sours so we easily stayed for many hours. We have a couple new favorite Scotches now (Glencadam & GlenAllachie). Salmon Skink was wonderful too.

Super schönes Hotel am Meer. Essen ist fantastisch. Wenn Glück, Parkplatz vor der dem Hotel.

De locatie! Heerlijk met zicht op de haven. Goed restaurant.

Smal bed: 1.40 breed. Alleen geschikt als je verliefd bent.

Everything about our two night stay was brilliant. We had a comfortable, cosy room with a marvellous view across Stonehaven harbour. Bar meals were tasty, all the staff were friendly and efficient and the atmosphere was relaxed and cheery. There was excellent variety in the Continental Breakfast and the person who ran the breakfast room was especially helpful and welcoming. He made great coffee! The stairs to the bedrooms were steep but they provided a good work out! Congrats to all.

Great location, run by nice, very helpful folks. A great surprise is the enormous collection of beers and whiskies and particularly Belgian beers that the bar has to offer, which is quite exceptional. The beers on tap from the small brewery they are associated with are also excellent. The quality of the food on offer at dinner is very high, and even if you're not staying here we would strongly recommend a visit to eat and drink.

My wife found the bed a little firm, but for me that was ok. The shower is in a bath which is quite high-sided. For us it was ok, but I would suggest provision of a non-slip step to allow some folks to access the bath / shower more easily.
