My wife got food poisoning and was hospitalised

Had a fabulous stay. Food, hotel and particularly the staff, was amazing. Had a fun and relaxing time.

Absolutely fabulous! First of all the staff are soooooo friendly and welcoming they actually go out of their way to talk to you and are interested in what you say, never stayed anywhere where they were all like this. The vibe was great so calm, relaxed and just ‘nice’ lovely setting as soon as you drive up very impressive. The room was super exceptionally clean and tidy especially for such an old building, loads of room to walk round very spacious. The bed was comfortable and a good size and also not too warm either. The food was amazing so tasty and varied we had the crispy pork belly, presented well and as I said so delicious. Breakfast was very good liked the fact that it wasn’t a buffet but still plenty. We are definitely going back later on as we noticed the gardens are full of azaleas and rhododendron so can imagine it being spectacular. I would highly recommend this hotel it is now my all time favourite.

Hotel set in it's own grounds, staff very welcoming and friendly, room was clean and comfortable and met all of our needs. The hotel restaurant was superb.

Nothing, but if I had to find fault it would be being very politely asked if everything was alright with the meal at the evening meal, I am more than capable of making a complaint if needed. I have to admit this is a pet hate of mine.

Nice old house. Faded grandeur

A little tatty. Bathrooms need a refit and a check to see what is working or not. Bulbs replaced. Knobs on shower missing.

Hot tub is a disaster. You will likely run out of wood before it gets warm! Has anyone managed to get in the hot tub? Would love to know. We have been looking forward to this for a long time and feel disappointed. It has such potential. Staff are very nice and helpful.

We throughly enjoyed our stay at Grinkle park. Staff are attentive, warm and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. We had sweet treats and tea on arrival, an evening meal and breakfast the following day and the food was excellent. Everything was superbly presented and to a high quality. Grinkle Park offers a relaxing environment with walks around the grounds, a snooker table and board games with a well stocked bar. It’s also within close proximity by car (approx 20mins) to Whitby and Saltburn if you fancy a wonder. Rooms are equipped with tea and coffee making facilities. If you are looking to switch off and relax then this is the place for you. We are looking forward to returning.

From our welcome to departure this was an excellent break .The staff were all polite and efficient, the food was first rate and the room spotless ,having stayed at other hotels in the group Grinkle Park stands out as a flagship.

Great location for an overnighter in North Yorkshire. Lovely atmosphere created by the helpful friendly staff. Good evening meal with varied menu. Great breakfast with every choice available. Our only negative was the bed! Very soft and only a double in a deluxe room. We tactfully suggest 2 single beds in this room which could be pushed together if necessary. Otherwise - well be back especially at the price!!
