Red Lion

It was close to a wedding reception we were going to. Value for money and in a nice little town. Staff were really friendly.

Bed was very soft for our personal choice.

Very disappointed with the room. Very outdated. Didn't have a blind it gets which meant we couldn't leave the curtains open when getting dressed. The wall clock ticked so loud it kept us awake. No hand towels in the bathroom and the extractor fan was so noisy and went on for ages making going to the toilet in the night difficult. Work going on outside the bedrooms as they are having a conservatory built. Didn't disturb us but looked like a rubbish dump. I felt it was very over priced for what it was. Paid less for a stay a few days later and the properties were chalk and cheese. Nothing of note in the area, we only stayed for one night as a stop over party was through a journey. I wouldn't have stayed another night. On a better note the staff were lovely as were the resident dogs.

Location was great, in the market square.

Quality of bed linen and mattress. Parking was free but 10 minutes walk away.
