Argyll Hotel

The room was fantastic, great views, very clean.

We thought the extra charge for the 2 dogs was a little expensive.

Polite helpful staff.

As far as I knew I booked bed and breakfast. But breakfast was near £5 extra.

Ideal location as was getting the ferry the next day

Pillows were uncomfortable apart from that all good

Very close to the amenities on the seafront. Partner of the best pub on the seafront (outside seats with a view of the Scottish loch and mountains to die for) with a shortcut down to it for customers. Private car park is great. Nice looking beer garden although it wasn't quite the weather for us to use it.

Breakfast was not served in the hotel (but is available (at a minimal cost)in the pub at the front) and only continental (maybe it is more in high season but don't know that for sure). I don't want to get outside dressed to get to breakfast really.

Dirty, cold, no electricity in the morning and no staff on hand to speak to. Wasn't able to have hot shower, wash/ dry hair or even make a hot drink. Staircase leading to bedrooms was dark and narrow with stairs that spirraled round and the door at the top opened back onto the stairs meaning you had to step backwards down a step to open door, very unsafe when carrying luggage. I asked at sister hotel to speak to a menber of staff but no one came in before we had to leave.

Everything about the stay was great. Staff, food location, views, bedroom & facilities.

No complaints, our requirements were met & would stay here again.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. The evening meal was excellent.

For a de-luxe room there was no wardrobe or coat hooks for outdoor clothing. No seat in the room. Only one lamp by the bed. Awkward step in the middle of the room.

The room was large and the beds very comfortable. Minimal noise.

It is a an old building in need of some basic maintenance in the rooms (sealant around showers etc).
