The Porlock Weir Hotel

We stayed here for a long weekend in the area, Porlock Wier Hotel is well placed for this slightly off the main highway. From the check-in to out, the service was excellent, nice to see that car parking was covered by the Hotel. The room was clean, spacious, and made daily, we travelled with two small dogs and as a nice touch the hotel provided beds for them, the whole hotel is dog friendly in all areas except the main restaurant. The food was very good, ample with the staff happy to deviate off menu, the stone cooked pizzas is excellent. On the journey home I had a call from the Hotel to say we had left a sweater in the room, they organised postage and it arrived the following day, another example of the excellent service. I would highly recommend this Hotel as one to checkout.

Excellent breakfast. Plenty of choice. Appetising food Unfortunately one of our meals at dinner was less than satisfactory- but the response by staff was very helpful . An alternative was offered and bill adjusted Our room was pleasant, very nicely presented. Room was quite small - hence nowhere to sit except the bed. We were on the second floor and the stairs were steep and narrow Would not want to stay up there again, although we had help with luggage. Public rooms are very pleasant and comfortable All staff we encountered were pleasant and helpful

Coffee was rather bitter, not very hot Maybe been standing too long Tea was rather weak

The dining rooms were a bit lacking in atmosphere.

An exceptional hotel...especially if you are looking for peace and relaxation without having to travel to the end of the earth! The location is fantastic, the staff, rooms are great and the food is fabulous. I have stayed here several times and it's definitely my go to for an uplifting break!

Great location, helpful staff. Room had a lovely sea view and the bed was very comfortable. Dog friendly. Very nice to have a separate guest kitchen with plenty of tea & coffee supplies.

For the cost of the room (£240 per night) I was anticipating a more luxurious feel. The room was very bland, no pictures, furniture was a bit cheap.
