Staff were friendly and very helpful when I phoned for help when we could not find the hotel. The bedroom was warm, comfortable and spacious, but a second chair would have been appreciated by the second occupier. The ensuite was lovely and clean, I liked the long shelf to pop our toiletry bags on. The hot buffet breakfast from the hotplate in the simply furnished, modern add-on conservatory was acceptable.

Directions from Booking.com took us to a general postcode quite far from the hotel. The hotel's own website gave much better directions. The approach from the car park to reception was quite unobtrusive and, being along a deep gravel path, difficult to negotiate with a wheeled suitcase. We had not been informed of the procedure to gain access to reception in the late evening but where able to see the desk with a notice of the phone number to ring the night manager and he answered promptly and gave us the code to open the door.

Room was cold no heating so had the electric blower on most the night. No hot water in our room! Response oh that's a shame!
