Hotel Kronprinz

Not a 4 star, rather a 3 star hotel and definitely not worth the high price. There was a high cost for Wi-fi. The room was too cold with rather unfashioned furniture. There was a large sign at the room which stated that if you smoke in this room for unsmoker, you have to pay a fine of at least 150 Euros. The sign irritated us. At least the breakfast was good and the staff was ok.

My young daughter & I stayed at the Kronprinz for 3 days while my daughter was receiving medical treatment at the nearby university. The extent of my German was google translate which was very funny at times. The main staff member at reception spoke fluent English, while other staff members spoke some English & were very happy to attempt to converse as much as possible to assist with our needs. As we traveled to & from the university a number of times each day by taxi, the reception staff were accommodating in promptly booking taxis for us as required. On our arrival I discovered that the power adaptor I had with me for my iphone charger was not suitable for use in Germany. Much to my relief, staff at the hotel loaned me their own charger to use for the length of my stay - an absolute lifesaver! The food at the restaurant was fabulous!!! Breakfast buffet had a good range of hot & cold breakfast items & fruit & cheese. Restaurant food was yum! Wished we could have stayed longer to try more of tge menu items. During our time in Greifswald we returned to the hotel for all meals because the food was so good. With it's central location, we easily wandered around the local shopping strip (lots of intersting stores & attractions) just moments from the hotel. The local zoo, a few minutes walk away was a great place to visit. The hotel itself is an older style hotel which is very well maintained. The rooms had everything we needed, very comfortable, with everything in working order. Highly recommended!
