Hôtel & Spa de La Bretesche

The site and walks around the castle are incredible.

We couldnt find staff at the bar, or at the spa when we went. under-staffed possibly during peak season?

It was very plush we found the staff friendly and helpful

The walking restrictions around the property, we understand that there should be restrictions on the golf course but there were plenty of areas the could have been made more accessible! And the shower left room for improvement given that we had an executive room

Beautiful hotel in a stunning location. Beautiful and spacious rooms with comfortable beds and a large bathroom. Set in a wonderful park opposite the castle.

The hotel was clearly in off season when we visited which was not evident from their online booking presence. This meant the outdoor pool was closed and not accessible and the level of competency from the staff was not what you would expect from a 5 star hotel. We were among the only people in the restaurant and our steaks were clearly overcooked. Overall a lovely place but make sure you check details particularly when booking for early june.

Grounds and property were exceptional, the staff were all magnificent, happy and helpful. So relaxing and the golf course was great!

Everything was perfect from the beginning till the end; staff was really friendly and polite (front desk, cleaning, waiters, golf shop…), our villa was extremely clean and well maintained, the food at Le Club had variety and was always tasty and of course the surroundings were awesome: the Chateau, the lake, the forest… We traveled with two dogs and didn’t have a single issue during our stay.
