Staff weren’t very friendly

Two of our party were Ceoliac - the food choice was reasonable although limited dessert options. Naz was very helpful ensuring we had our orders despite it being busy with a wedding party. Very enjoyable stay.

Separate GF menu or clearly stated on the main menu.

The general ambience is wonderful and the staff are friendly and very efficient. Tastefully furnished and with all sorts of interesting bric a brac and a wonderful collection of clocks. Lots of lovely old leather furniture and two log fires.

The Jacuzzi bath in our room needed a certain level of acrobat techniques to get in and out of. Much of the clientele of this hotel are senior and, like us, would have extreme difficulty using it. I consider it to be hazardous. Previously when we stayed here we have had a walk in shower and were not expecting this trial. Had we stayed longer this would have been a show stopper. Food was of the arty-crafty type and centred on artful presentation as opposed to sustenance. After a bracing day on the moor one looks forward to a hearty meal and not the expensive minimalist offerings served up here. We have stayed here many times but we shall not return until the menu and style changes.

Lovely location and very comfortable hotel. Food was good and staff very helpful and friendly. Will be back!

The weather!! Dartmoor weather is known for being unpredictable so not a problem but need to be prepared.

The meal was over priced. Three little pieces of meat and one undercooked carrot.
