Park Hotel

The first time we've stayed at this hotel on a coach holiday. We were made to feel welcome as soon as we arrived and given our key cards for our rooms. Our room was quite spacious and very clean with a well stocked tea/coffee tray. A reasonably sized bathroom with a walk-in shower that worked well once we got the hang of it and always plenty of hot water so no running out. The bed was clean and comfortable although we had to ask for extra pillows which were supplied with a cheery smile. The tv was a fairly old flat screen that couldn't pick most of the channels up so it was a good thing that we were not that bothered. Others in the hotel had more modern tv's and had no problem. The room was very comfortable but lacked hooks to hang anything on,particularly in the bathroom. The meals were always delicious so compliments to the chef. Hello to Caryn who made mealtimes go smoothly and with a smile even under pressure. No entertainment but Bingo and pub quiz were offered on two nights. We found the cosy lounge just off the foyer suited us for a quiet drink and chat. Overall, the hotel is a nice size with enough room for a coach plus private guests so it always felt cosy and friendly. We would definitely stay again - despite the couple of small niggles - as overall we had a very enjoyable stay. We didn't get to see much of Montrose itself as every day we had trips out on the coach so that's something for next time.

I paid extra for a superior king size room. The size and facilities were good, but the decor was dated and scruffy. The shower/bath was disappointing, it was a faff to get hot water, there were instructions which I followed but the water never really got hot fir a bath and the shower in the morning was adequate

Another enjoyable stay at the"Park Hotel Montrose". Sadly just myself this time. It was a favourite stop for my wife and I but.. sadly Ethel........ she loved the Park Hotel, always clean, friendly staff, good food. My wife and I visited many times over the years...
