Friendly staff and great breakfast

I booked this hotel for my colleague and she said this: "Park was very good - functional, comfy, warm". Not a lot of words but a good recommendation all the same!

As a family of 7, aged 15 to 80 we had a great wknd at the CBC Winter Dance weekend. The hotel was very comfortable, warm and cosy. The food was great and served from lovely smiley staff and was always nice and hot. The entertainment was great fab music, amazing musicians . We have already booked for next year !

The hotel is dog-friendly and the staff were very welcoming of our dog. The room was a good size so plenty of space for the dog's bed. The bed was comfortable and the pillows excellent (important for people of our age!)

The room was too hot for a comfortable night's sleep and the bathroom too cold for comfortable use. The shower over the bath was hopeless-I just could not get hot water from it so abandoned the attempt.

Breakfast went very well and we had largely continental style. Any room problems were sorted out quickly. Staff were able to advise on the town and transport.

Some room decor was a bit tired.

The LHS of the bed was really terrible and most uncomfortable - it was like sleeping in a ditch! Bathroom was old and really tatty, paint flaking off side of the bath, looked bad! Barman or night porter was most unwelcoming in bar.
