The Florentine

The room was spacious with everything I needed. Full length mirror with a socket next to it so that I could dry my hair easily. Instant heat when I turned the radiator on. DAB radio . Lovely shower products. Good black out curtains, usb sockets by the bed. Very comfortable bed and linens.

Large gap under the door which I had to cover up with some clothing as it let the light through. Anyone bigger than me would have struggled with the shower in this top floor room because of the angled ceiling.

Breakfast was slow but lovely service. Would consider booking elsewhere if time was limited.

The room was lovely and spacious, the bed very comfortable, and the bathroom a good size. The continental breakfast was very good. The dinner menu was well thought-out and everything on there was tempting; the portion sizes were just right. We could not fault the staff in any way; they were professional, helpful and courteous.

The temperature in our room was a little too warm and something really set off my allergies (I don't know what it was), but that didn't stop our general liking of room.

Location and exterior architecture

1. No lift. Are room was on the top floor and my wife has a disability. We were told no other room was available for us. My wife really struggled with the stairs. 2. The temperature was late twenties, early thirties, there was no fan in the room. 3. There were large cobwebs on some pictures and dust on others therefore indicating poor cleanliness. 4. Our room was above a generator which kept kicking in all night. This resulted in us not having sleep for two nights.

We love the Florentine and always stay here. We always have an exceptional sleep - the beds are so comfortable! This is a very nice, quiet and comfortable hotel. The service is always excellent by Julie and her team. The proximity to Uni of Sheffield is very convenient for us. Breakfast and dinner is always very nice and we have eaten here many times. Plenty of parking at the Florentine and it is in a great location just outside of the city centre. You can walk in (it would be a fair walk!) or the buses and UBERs are very convenient and reasonably priced into the city centre.

Staff were great very helpful and friendly . It's a beautiful old building lots to look at. and and in a good location . It will be a great place to visit in the warmer weather when you can enjoy being outside.
