Very comfortable for two friends on a hiking adventure.

I visit every year - it’s a lovely old building with lots of character and history. The staff are warm and welcoming, breakfast is delicious as is their general menu.

The bathroom was small and while everything a bit old fashioned - it was quirky - and some of the furniture was class ... it just needed a bit more styling for my taste

Beautiful location and drinking in the pub was nice. The free breakfast was a bonus.

The cleanliness wasn’t up to scratch unfortunately, for example there was lots of hair in the shower.

I love the property as an Ye olde pub and its location is perfect for all local walks of Mam Tor and other Ethels. Didn’t need to use the car at all. Breakfast was excellent, we all had different food and all was cooked to perfection. Amongst local shops and other bars.

Everything is a little tired, needs deep cleaning and needs maintenance, tile in Derwent bathroom near sink fell off as it’s loose and replacement of some things. Love the old furniture but a bit of love would drag more customers and change the feel. It feels tired but that can be changed. Loved the friendly ghost in the end room. Staff friendly and happy to help.

Perfect location a great breakfast comfy beds, just a great base at good value
