HOUSE CATTLEYA monteverde

I absolutely loved my stay at Monteverde house. Marcuela and David are amazing hosts, they know a lot about the area and the nature around and give great recommendations about what to do - and what you can spot in the garden. They are both extremely friendly and helpful, I can’t recommend this place enough. Plus it’s right by Curi Cancha and by a bus stop to Monteverde reserve, so great for nature lovers, and those without a car. The place itself is super nice and spacious, very homely.

Beautiful gardens and view, quiet, secluded, clean. Very close to Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve. Walkable to Curi Cancha and Stella’s restaurant. Very friendly and attentive host family. Plenty of hot water for showers for family of 4.

Not really “didn’t like”, but things to be aware of: 1. Steep driveway, so you will need 4 wheel drive (which we had), especially when it rains (which generally happens in the afternoon). 2. Beds are very firm, which were fine for us.

Gracious hosts/talented local artists with beautiful family greeted me with flowers/ fresh fruit and gifted me a bottle of wine when I mentioned I enjoyed wine/cheese for light dinner. Superb, fresh, well-appointed and private accommodations in nature away from tourist hustle bustle but within walking distance to good restaurants and main attractions.

Upon our arrival to the house, Marcela gave us a warm welcome with fruits and explained how everything operated in the house, there was a washing machine and fully equipped kitchen (olive oil, salt and pepper and washing liquid) which was very convenient. She also gave us recommendations for trails and helped us book a guided night tour. The house itself was very clean and modern with Marcela at our disposal throughout our stay. The house was also very close to restaurants (walking distance)

The host was super helpful!

Beautiful apartment in a cottage in the mountains! Very close to hiking trails. The owner spent a lot of time instructing us on what we could visit in the area. The apartment is well equipped and clean, highly recommend.

Great location close to two reserves and places to have breakfast. Very spacious with a great washer drier. Dawn chorus was fantastic. Lovely host who couldn't have been more helpful.

Lots of birds and next to a reserve.

Sometimes the neighbouring dogs were barking too much .

Beautiful location, tukans comming every afternoon, kitchen with everything, big bed, nice bathroom, super friendly owner. More beautiful than on the pictures.
