HOUSE CATTLEYA monteverde

A wonderful stay! Enormous apartment, really comfortable bed, clean and the kitchen had everything needed. Thoughtful hosts, even gave me fresh aloe Vera for sunburn. Excellent location in tru Monteverde, Stella's for brunch, delicious.

It’s a wonderful quiet oasis away from all the tourist bustle. A great kitchen with all the things you might need. Everything thoughtfully done - coffee, tea bags and washing powder.

Host, location and property were wonderful.

It was a great stay. Beautiful view of the sunset down to the Gulf of Nicoya from the bedroom window.

The hosts were nice and accommodating. They are on site and gave us a great recommendation for our visit to the cloud forest (see the hummingbird gallery. It's better than the park and it's free.) We also saw more animals on the grounds than in some of the national parks. 🤷

Not a big deal, but finding the apartment was a challenge because signage from the road is hard to see while driving.

Lovely bright spacious studio in a quiet location but walking/short drive to all the main attractions and restaurants. Lovely comfy bed and tasteful furnishings. Marcela was warm and welcoming providing fruit and coffee and helping us with recommendations about where to eat and recommending and reserving tours in the reserves . There are capuchin monkeys, coatis, mott mott birds who come and visit . Highly recommended. We really enjoyed eating at Tomas and Thiago and the hummingbird galllery

A very welcome host to meet us. Quaint. Great views and gardens with sunset view. Great for our 1 night stay. Shower ok. Felt safe & secure.

Shower wasn’t great.

Marcela met us when we arrived at Monteverde House and let us into the property. She had a bowl of fresh fruit on the kitchen table and a bottle of wine on the counter waiting for us to enjoy. She showed us around the space and gave some useful tips about the property, and was very helpful answering questions we had about the area & provided restaurant and activity recommendations. She was also gracious enough to converse with me in my rusty Spanish - and provided the vocabulary I was missing when I was at a loss for words or couldn't remember the correct conjugation ;) The king size bed was super comfortable, and we slept really well both nights we were there. The kitchen was well furnished, and we enjoyed the spaciousness of the suite. The property is very near the Monteverde Dairy Store, so one afternoon we stopped in and picked up some cheese, then went to the nearby Monteverde Wholefoods store (no relation to the US corporation, I think) and got some sourdough, and enjoyed them with our wine while watching the sunset from the front porch of our suite. It was a beautiful aspect! We soon noticed that a very cute capuchin monkey was also enjoying the view from a nearby tree. When he noticed our spread, he moved from the tree to the roof of the building (so we moved the food indoors before he could grab any!) The stars at night were incredible from this location too! We would love to stay here again.

Great place located ~5 min from the national park. Marcella, the host was great and provided all the information we needed. Due to the proximity to the forest lots of animals can be seen by the house. We saw many birds, Aguti and a large group of white-face monkeys. The washing machine in the facility was of great use for us.

The hosts were very helpful with special requests and answering questions promptly. Location excellent - next to town and good restaurants. Room was clean. Comfortable bed. The kitchen had everything we needed to make a meal and the host had fruit and wine for us when we arrived. It is a good value!

We could hear people talking in the adjoining room.
