Gasthof Hartl Zum Unterwirt

A quiet and comfortable bedroom in a charming little town. The hotel is about 10 min away from the Ammersee lake with its beautiful shores and views of the mountains. The restaurant of the hotels serves typical local dishes and the service is very good.

The breakfast was a nice with good coffee and bread. The room was a nice size. We were in a corner room with 2 windows that tilted open.

We were disappointed that the hotel was closed when we arrived. They host was kind enough, however, to leave a key for us in the mailbox. We let ourselves in but it was dark and unwelcoming since no one was there. There was no air circulation and it was stuffy. We felt that it would have been much better to have an oscillating fan or a mini split to move air and keep us cool. The windows tilted but there was not a breeze so it was stuffy and difficult to get comfortable.

Comfortable room and excellent restaurant. 15 minute walk to the SBahn makes it an ideal centre for touring München or the rest of Bayern. Just off the A96 Autobahn so ideal location for a stopover if travelling to or from the Channel ports (9 hour drive to/from Calais, via Luxembourg to avoid French tolls). Excellent value compared to hotels in München itself
