Mama Tungu hostel

Melissa was super helpful and friendly. We’d had a rough day before we arrived and she really made us feel welcome.

Mama Tungu Hostel IS great. In fact I would argue that it is the best one in banos. The staff is very professional even when other hostels seem to be empty, Mama Tungu was decently filled which was amazing as an solo traveler trying to socialize. Overall I really enjoyed it.

Nothing really to complain about. But if we are nit picking then maybe the fact that we do not have access to the kitchen to cook for ourselves or to store our own food.

Music was way to loud outside and inside. There is no escaping from it if you want to work on the laptop.

I fell in love with the bartender

The location can be good or bad. Three Waterfalls are within 3-5 minutes walking distance from the hostel. If you like nature, this is your place. The staff were nice.

On the bad side, it’s far from the city center and from restaurants and shops. You have to go down to the main road if you don’t want to buy overpriced food from the hostel.

+ whirlpool + great food + very nice staff ++ in the middle of nature, very calming!

+- due to it's location in nature, keep in mind to grab a phone numer of a taxi driver to get around more easily
