Mama Tungu hostel

A hidden paradise with a mountain-top feel with great views. Friendly welcome from staff who had very good English. Swimming pool, table tennis and hammocks were all great, as was the tree house with good wifi even there! Exceeded all our expectations - felt far more than a 'normal hostel'. Good menu options for meals.

Was quite highly priced - but there again probably warranted by the facilities above!

Pool and jacuzzi, really nice chill area and great rooms. It is a bit outside of town but easy to get back and forth and totally worth the money.

Loved everything

Such a peaceful & beautiful place outside hectic Banos. The yard with the pool, jacuzzi, fireplace, bar, and doggies is super chill.

Bring cash as paying by card adds an extra ~10% to your bill The double rooms are a bit pricy in my opinion - but chilling in your own hammock on the balcony is nice

The property is beautiful and secluded yet close enough to town for restaurants. There’s a hot tub and pool which is lovely after a day of adventuring. The private rooms are spacious and comfortable. The staff were soooo friendly and welcoming!

Enjoyed the atmosphere staff and hot tub after tough hiking. Quick response to request for towels and cleaning of room. Plugs close to each bed.

Area near the door was slightly dirty, a little out of town but this is clearly stated and they have links with a local taxi driver with standard fare to get around if needed.

Breakfast offered an extensive choice, was delicious, and was offered for an extended period for those who needed an early start--to those who wanted to sleep in! The staff, (mostly Argentinian) were exceptional. Their weren't many people staying at the Lodge, but they still went out of their way to light us a bonfire, and were helpful getting us bicycles for the Ruta de Las Cascadas, and to help us with many other questions. Great crew!

The only complaint, and it is a small one, is that the sound insulation between rooms was not great, and we unfortunately had noisy neighbors.
