Chequers Country Inn

Was not aware of change of ownership, but Indian menu looked inviting.

Sadly whilst bedroom was clean, bathroom was poor, unemptied bin, no toiletries and looked as though it had not been cleaned since last guest. Also no hairdryer available.

Super friendly owners treated our dog Dave like he was there own made us feel extremely welcome enjoyed our stay would recommend

the location was near where i needed to be for an event i was attending

the dirt had to ask the owner if they had a hoover Bits all over the carpet. toilet was uncleaned yellow urine stain on underside of toilet seat and poop skid in the toilet bowl dried tooth paste spits in the wash basin and the shower was filthy with a used scrunchy hanging on the controls used cup and spoon by the kettle dust on skirting boards and when i moved the bedside cabinet there was a soap and lots of white things not sure if animal eggs or grains of rice I asked if there was another room the owner showed me 2 more rooms again none of a very good standard of cleanliness i chose the 2nd of these options i had to clean the wash basin before i could use it and when i went to put the cloth in the toilet bin there was a nappy or similar in the bin Clearly this had not been emptied from the last visitors The owner kept said he only took over 2 weeks ago he must have known what customers would be staying and could have made more effort to make sure rooms were clean and i was charged at the property £10 for my dog a disappointing standard of cleanliness as i've stayed here before and it was lovely

Nothing, we did not stay, hotel promised refund as the rooms were disgusting. I reported straight away to booking.com , still waiting for refund as promised by hotel.

Pubic hair, filthy carpets, stinking of smoke, dirty walls, all worksurfaces covered in layer of dust and dirt. Urine . The smell. the cobwebs, the linen . We did not stay, we did not sit down!

No food available. Room above a pub. Reasonable for price. Staff polite, recent Management Change.

The pub had a nice vibe and the rooms are reasonably priced. The host is fantastic

Comfy bed. Clean linen and towels. Good sized rooms.

Very outdated rooms. Extremely dirty! Carpets not hoovered. Dirty bathroom. Dust everywhere. Lots of cobwebs. Even kettle was dirty. Rooms had not been cleaned for a long time.
