HOTEL KAZBEGI 1963

beautiful view of Kazbek. Very kind owner. comfortable and well-equipped rooms.

Owner Nico was friendly and welcoming and the gift of cheeses and wine was a lovely gesture. I liked the location just away from the main drag, especially since the main square is being dug up at the moment, and the view from the deck across to Gergeti Trinity Church was stunning. There are only 8 rooms here, all big, clean, and with hot water showers and tea/coffee/kettle.

A very basic breakfast of some sort would be a good addition, since you're 10 minutes walk away from any options and cafes open relatively late. The bakery had sold its bread and closed when I got there so I had to resort to biscuits from the Spar to take on the walk up to the church.

The hotel is excellent value and the host Nikolozi made the stay awesome. Upon arrival I had a nice, newly renovated modern room and was offered glass of red wine while sitting on the patio admiring the stunning views of the area, especially the church and Mt. Kazbeg hiding in the clouds. Nikolozi was very helpful in making restaurant recommendations and personally made me a great breakfast the next morning for my big hike up Altihut that day. Great place, great host, Ill be back!!!

Very good hotel and very nice stuff

The location is perfect, with amazing views of Mount Kazbek (even better than the view from the Rooms Hotel)! The host is extremely friendly and welcoming, and the room was clean and comfortable, with a balcony overlooking the town. The breakfast was great, we especially loved the pancakes!
