Nice place at the beach.. kind of paradise.. but the staff, food, kitchen could be better..paid 100 cedis for 3 shrimps and rice. No vegetables. Good pizza. Maybe the staff needs a vacation.. it seems so Also some strange calculating/% when paying with a card But.. over all its a paradise

"A stunning peaceful beach hideaway with outstanding food and friendly, helpful staff."

10.0

The Afro Beach Eco Resort is on a stunning beach walking distance to a fishing village and nearby Busua beach. It is quiet and peaceful, but the staff are always nearby to help. The food was outstanding and the guided hike to Busre and Busua was one of the highlights of our whole trip to Ghana. There are also a few bars along the beach. The resort is a long way from the main road and feels very remote, but once you are at the beach it is a little slice of heaven, just like one of the other reviewers agreed. The rooms are comfortable and although they feel very hot and stuffy when you first get in, the fan is powerful and made sleeping very comfortable.

It wasn't a problem for us, but be prepared for nearly an hour drive from the main road.

This is a stunning peaceful corner to enjoy some days relaxing in front of the sea. I loved my stay there, the room was spacious, spotless and comfortable, and it was very special to wake up looking out at the sea. The staff is friendly and accommodating, ask about the activities they can offer. Thank you for a beautiful stay!

"A peaceful wildlife haven, with good food and great vibes."

9.0

The staff and owners were very welcoming and provided us with lots of options of things we could do in the local area, and further afield. The food was delicious and always on time. We loved nature watching in the local area, it is a fantastic spot for bird watching, we had brilliant views of water thick knee right in front of the accommodation, as well as seeing four different species of hornbills close by, and even a glimpse of some monkeys in the nearby mangroves.

I can't think of anything notable that we didn't like, particularly as their card machine arrived on our last day, in perfect time for us to pay our bill. It's worth bearing in mind that it is a fair trip in a taxi from the main road, but this is not a bad thing, as it makes the stay feel more adventurous.

"Butre Vacation"

8.0

The food was amazing. I enjoyed every single meal I was served.

There was little to no privacy, even while in the room. The staff would simply come up, and I'd have to quickly cover up before stepping out. The point of being at a beach front property for me was the view and fresh air,so I opened the door and wasn't expecting to have them come upstairs. I understand they didn't have a proper comms setup and the only way they can communicate with their guests is to come up, but they could resort to phone calls. I had one staff walk in on me while I was sleeping, naked in bed and he just stared right at me while I struggled to get a cloth to cover myself. I was mortified. The roads to the resort are terrible , especially because of the galamsey (illegal mining) activities, which made our journey quite difficult. The sea itself isn't a clear blue anymore because of the galamsey as well, but that's not directly the fault of the resort. The lights in the room were quite dim and I couldn't read with them at night. I'd loved to lay in bed and read a book, with the waves crashing in the background and the gentle breeze coming in, but I couldn't. Please pack along everything you need, even a first aid kit as it's in a remote area and there's no transport to the nearest clinic in case of an emergency.

"idyllic location, very friendly and helpful staff."

8.0

Super location and a very boutique size means that you will really feel like you have your own private getaway. The staff were super friendly and always very helpful, and even had a little printed guide of things to check out in the vicinity. It was a stellar experience.

Completely typical for this area in africa, it's not the easiest to get to, but well-signposted, and not bad overall. Would suggest you have a 4WD, or at least high clearance in your vehicle.
