Clan Living - The Founder Ubud

We first stayed in 2023, then last week in june 2025. Last years experience has been good thought to repeat again. This time the conditions of the rooms & pool has declined. It looks used and worn out. We booked for 2 nights. Also we are the first guest to check in, we asked for the first room but the staff said “cannot choose room, as rooms are given based on nights we stayed”. We booked for 2 nights and she give the last room on the end of pool. We didn’t try the pool cz it’s looks dirty. Also the breakfast didn’t taste too nice and not sure where they cooked the meals from.

Douglas was amazing!! He was very communicative via WhatsApp day of arrival to day of departure. They messaged on WhatsApp when breakfast was ready, about our set up tours and transfers, etc. We did a day tour through the hotel and transfer and round trip boat ticket to gili t through hotel and it worked out well. Our driver for tour and transfer was Amet, Douglas friend and he and his wife were great! Amazing location as well right near monkey forest, shops, restaurants all walking distance. Breakfast was soo good as well.

Only thing I would say is our AC wasn’t working that well, but we didn’t tell staff so they may have been able to fix it.

Actually, I loved everything there and decided to choose this place right after seeing it on the app. Very nicely designed, comfortable bed, clean bedsheet, clean pillows, bedside light, cute bathtub, very spacious room, cute balcony, cool net to chillax in the room, nice common area, quiet while being so close to everything you need in a short distance by foot. The staff was very nice and helpful.

It would be perfect if the breakfast hade some meat. Be careful with nailheads on the floor.

The staff were all very welcoming and courteous. The room was perfect size and quite comfortable. The rainfall showerhead was amazing with great water pressure, responsive temperatures, and easy to navigate controls. The net hammock was comfortable and one of the most notable unique features of the rooms. The location is central to many shops, restaurants, and activities. Despite this, because the property is tucked away from the main road, the property is quiet and peaceful. Great value for the price.

The rooms vary slightly with their balcony orientation, and you don't really know which one you are getting until you arrive. Each level is unique and has its perks, but it might be nice to know ahead of time if a specific space is of importance to you. I didn't have either the outdoor hammock or the arched balcony seating that I saw on this website where I stayed on the top floor rooms, but the view of the orchid trees and the uniquely designed property was still beautiful.

The staff was super friendly and helpful!!! The place was very nice. You could choose from 6 different options for breakfast. The options were mostly Indonesian and one was pancake with fruit and one was egg. We choose the pancake with fruit and it was suuuuuper tasty! Definitely choose the pancake if you like a sweet breakfast.

We reported one issue that we are not going to tell here - why? Because the staff was really grateful that we reported the issue and it seemed like they wanted to do everything to ensure that it will be changed :) So really goooood staff!!!

Good location - very central. The staff were very attentive and responded to all queries. Towels and bedding were changed daily with good room facilities.

The property could do with a good deep clean. A little dusty with a dead gecko found in the curtains and a diffuser that was empty with dusty reeds. The stairs were squeky with the steps in an odd formation making it potentially dangerous. The room looks dated and in need of an uplift. On arrival I was informed that the shower needed replacing which was fixed. The bulb was changed in the night lamp. I am unable to comment on the pool however, as I never used it. Overall, a nice stay, but I would probably opt to stay elsewhere if in the Ubud area.

I love it! The place is really beautiful and there the stuff is amazing. I was in contact mostly with Dina and she is superlovely! +The pool is clean and the best is the hottub! Which was really hot and I loved it! +It was quite there (I slept like a baby) and the location is top in the center with everything in walking distance. +Free parking for your motorbike in the city center is really nice! +Nice breakfast in the price and you can even borrow bike from them and go for a trip! - Only one thing was the internet. It worked perfectly for many hours and since I am digital nomad I need this. Then there was some challenge with the speed of internet in the morning and noon but I believe they will fix it before you will come there :))).

A cozy and well hidden co-living concept hotel with excellent service. Simple breakfast options included. Nice small yet functioning pool. Notably Dina and Douglas are excellent hosts that caters to all of our needs and enquries.
