"Hier wil je niet meer weg!"

10.0

Tim, Alejandra & Luna: thank you for an unforgetable time and for making us feel so welcome in your little paradise! Lots of love from the Netherlands!

"Very Good"

7.0

It was a beautiful place, and the cleaner lady did very good work so everything was very clean.

We felt confused because you had to read the rules and sign it, but for example ordering beers didn’t work like they written. We felt a little bit shy to order drinks to do it right. The dinner in the evening was almost mandatory, you need to say before 12 a.m. if you don’t want it. The dinner was vegetarian without options. The owner was very much around asking all the time if you are alright, what you are going to do etc which was nice, but we felt like being children on a summer camp. It is a good place if you stay a couple of nights, eat everything and do a lot activities daytime. For chilling out in a relaxed athmosphere was absent. We have travelled a lot in similar places around the world so were a bit disapointted of this place. And when we payed our bill in the end there was a lot we didn’t do or eat or drink at the bill, but it was sorted out in the end. Just werid they can’t mark items right.

"Hotelito Perdido is a beautiful jungle retreat with nice rooms, a warm and social atmosphere, and fantastic nature-based"

9.0

- Extremely friendly and welcoming owner & staff - I received a free room upgrade to a private room, which was absolutely amazing and totally unexpected (& hot water showers) - The beds are comfortable - Family-style dinners are a great way to connect with other guests and share experiences - Amazing activities nearby, such as kayaking on the river, visiting waterfalls, and hot springs - Beautiful natural setting with relaxing jungle sounds at night

- No kitchen facilities available - You’re quite dependent on the hostel for food and drinks, if you want to prepare your own food, you need to bring everything in advance from Livingston or Río Dulce so meals at the hostel can make the stay more expensive, especially if you eat all meals there.

I really loved it here. The hostel is located in a beautiful spot and offers a lot of fun activities to do, such as kayaking, a chocolate workshop, or if you’re looking to relax—lying in a hammock or getting a massage. In the evenings, if you feel like it, you can play games with fellow travelers. The staff members and the owner are incredibly kind and helpful. Every evening a delicious family-style dinner was prepared. I have some allergies, and they adjusted my meals perfectly for me without any trouble.

If I had to mention one downside, it would be the WiFi, which often didn’t work properly. However, it was actually nice to disconnect from the outside world and really relax. The shower temperature could also be a bit tricky, as it was either very hot or cold.

"Perfect to wind down, relax & disconnect!"

9.0

Absolutely loved the vibe of this ‘jungle hotel’. Meals happen in the common area at one big table, and the food is great, dinner is always vegetarian (which we really appreciated!), and all the meals are very fairly priced. Anything you need, Tim or the staff will be happy to help you/organise it for you. Plenty of hammocks to chill, and a fun bar by the water with cocktails (again, very decently priced)! We loved spending a few nights here at the end of our 3 weeks Guatemala and it was perfect.

I didn’t mind at all, but be aware that there is almost no phone reception and WiFi in the common area is very weak so be prepared to disconnect and live off-grid for a few days :)
