"A Magical Riverside Escape, highly Recommended!"

10.0

El Hotelito Perdido is an absolute gem. Nestled right on the river, the natural surroundings are breathtaking, creating a truly magical atmosphere. The rooms are clean and simple, with beds on the upper level, and the sense of peace and tranquility here is priceless. Tim, the owner, was extremely communicative both before our arrival and throughout our stay, making the experience seamless and welcoming. Dinner was delicious and generously portioned, and the breakfast (available for an extra fee) was excellent. During our stay, we took an excursion to the waterfalls, Playa Blanca, and Livingston, which we booked directly through Tim. The whole experience was excellent and perfectly organized. The hotel's overall ambiance is warm and inviting, making it an ideal place to unwind and appreciate the beauty of nature. Highly recommended!

"Een klein paradijsje aan het water!"

9.0

"Book ahead!"

10.0

We booked well in advance for this very popular hotel.    It is accessed only by boat,  either from Rio Dulce or Livingston.    On arrival we were shown straight to our bungalow.  We booked the large one on the river front.   It is huge, with 2 beds upstairs,  living area,  small kitchen and bathroom downstairs.  The terrace is lovely with hammocks, table and chairs to relax to watch river life go by.     There are other seating areas on the front decking next to the small bar and yoga platform.    It's a really lovely space. The communal dining area and kitchen houses the dormitory above and also the reception desk.    Nothing is too much trouble if you ask.    Tim, the owner knows all there is to know about transport and what is around and about.    The staff are all very friendly and helpful.  We used the kayaks most days. You do have to pay extra for them.    We went to the Lampara waterfalls one day and the next,  Kevin arranged for us to have a guide to hike through the jungle to Livingston and get the boat back.   This trip is an extra.    Both were great experiences.   The grounds are wonderful,  lots of different birds to see,  lots of separate areas,  such as laundry area,  WiFi zone,  seating,  dining.  The food was very sustainable portions!   Each evening the meals were very varied and the communal table was really good fun to be social.    We met some lovely young people!  We stayed an extra night and were housed in The Treehouse on the opposite banks of the river,  at Dos Rios.  It was really cute, cozy and clean and we had use of a kayak to come back to the main hotel for our meals.   Kevin arranged our transfer back to rio dulce and the onward shuttle to Flores for Q175 each.   You can't get to this place by accident,  book ahead!
