BSG Porvorim Regency Hotel Goa

We didn't opt of buffet breakfast . so can not comment on spread or taste. But al-a-cart breakfast & dinners that we took in the room was excellent. Location was convenient. The best part was that the availability of lift at basement car park level. This was convenient for luggage as well as our pet.

1. Though website had said, that I can pay at property, I was asked to deposit Rs. 2000/- about 2 weeks before, which I did. 2. I was asked to agree for Rs. 3000/- extra, just 2 days before arrival - Reason unknown - I had to agree as I was travelling with my family & pet & it would have been difficult for me to look for another property at that last moment and losing Rs. 2000/- advance paid. 3. I had to cut short the stay by one day due to personal health reasons and even though, I had paid the entire amount after arrival, the property refused any refund, stating that they have to pay commission to "booking.com". I had even agreed to deduct the commission from my refund. But the property refused. That I think was unfair and rude. 4. The staff did not inform us on arrival, that "the Petals" restaurant in the building is closed and that we could order for some limited vegetarian dishes, like roti, vegetable curries, daal etc. we came to know about this, when the same was sent by room service in an adjacent room to another guest, which we happen to see. Only upon our enquiring at the reception, it was told to us about such an availability on the last day. As such for the first 3 days, we ended up eating from the cafe only. 5. All in all our impression was that the property wanted to maximize the monetary gain from the guest - asking extra amount at the last moment, room service or inhouse lunch, dinner from the cafe, refusal of refund etc....., without considering to help guests. 6. The swimming pool was small & offered no privacy for the swimming pool users, of any kind, like shower room etc. and a lot of guests were entering the pool with their regular clothing, without changing into swim suits or taking shower before entering the pool. There was no control by the property on this important hygiene aspect.

Room was clean and specially the bedsheets. Good hot water throughout the day. Excellent breakfast, better than expected and would return because of this.Manager Desmond was very pleasant and helpful. Am returning in 2 weeks and hope he honours my requests. 24 hr reception

After doing the booking on Booking.com, too much harassment over advance payment, that I was unable to do because I had a foreign credit card, EVEN though Booking.com had my card details at time of booking and said if I did not show up , the room charges would be deducted, so dont know what the problem was. Caused a lot of hassle and stress, just before travel, which was not good and almost made me want to take my business elsewhere. Am sure lots of foreigners would encounter this same problem , due to lack of credit card from Indian bank. If they are so worried about " no shows" , they should have a banking link for payment where you can use your credit card from abroad.

It’s a clean property.

They call themselves pet friendly. Haven’t seen a more unfriendly hotel to pets. It’s almost insulting to have your pets there. You’re almost made to feel ashamed for being ing your pets. Extremely unfriendly staff and poorly trained. By the end of our 1 day trip we just wanted to get out of this place. Please exercise caution if you’re travelling with your pet and planning to book this place

Great place to stay! Very modern, comfy and clean. Big room with all amenities including fridge and extra large TV. The restaurant is very nice too, with good food (incl. continental options) and great location by the pool, with lots of natural light. Recommended!

Hardly anything to say. Maybe only that directions could be made slightly clearer e.g. by having a street sign, the hotel entrance was slightly difficult to find.
