The Merry Monk Bed and Breakfast

The hotel worked for our visit, the location allowed us to visit friends and family, The restaurant was good, especially the Sunday roast. If we were a group travelling together it might have worked well.

The layout of the accommodation block would suit a group of people visiting, but the communal nature meant we lacked privacy. The facilities were ok, but basic. Some tea/coffee making in the room would be better.

The rooms were a good size with a nice shower room and a shared open plan kitchen/dining room/lounge. The staff were amazing and very friendly, providing us with great meals. Ideal location with plenty of parking and very handy having the Merry Monk restaurant on the same site. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely setting close to town. Breakfast was included and was delicious.

The bathroom pipe make a loud rattling noise every time the toilet is flushed or shower turned on. It made it very difficult to sleep as there are 9 rooms which were all in use and people using the bathroom continuously. I had to purchase ear plugs to be able to sleep through the night.
