Orea Superior Rooms

The best rooms we have stayed in, in Greece. Excellent shower, beautiful bathroom, very comfortable bed. Clean sheets and towels frequently ( every two days). Very helpful owner. A choice of good restaurants within walking distance plus a bakery and supermarket.

Kitchenette could have been slightly bigger - minor point. Pool had algae while we were there. Car parking area got a bit muddy when it rained.

Orea is a true paradise, ideal for a relaxing summer holiday! The apartment has all you need for a dreamy time in Zakynthos. The lovely garden, surrounded by gorgeous olive trees and banana palms, is the perfect setting for an idyllic swim in the pool. The location is also perfect for reaching the most beautiful beaches on both the east and the west coast of the island. While we were there, it was also super quiet and peaceful, and our host has graced with extra kindness and care. You do get a wonderfully charming family feeling in this place as the owners live nearby and are very welcoming and easy-going. Absolutely loved our stay, and would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing, not crowded holiday location.

Amazing villa with 3 double rooms, perfect location! Close to the city and the main attractions and at the same time in a quiet village, restaurants, a supermarket and a bakery within a very short walking distance. The owner is charming, available for any request

Awesome place to stay, amazing host, beautiful garden and pool, clean rooms .

Clean and quiet, owner was lovely, small family business. Welcome package stood out. (wine, olive oil and honey) with fresh apricot from the garden. Amenities small fridge, iron and ironing board, wifi, parking, toiletries, pool towels, Ac.

Maybe tea and coffee but we had a kettle.

Everything was perfect. We stayed 4 nights. The room, the swimming pool, and the surroundings were all very clean. The host is very friendly and definitely helpful when needed. The location is great. Away from the town, yet very close to everything you need. Bakery and supermarket 4 min away walking 100% recommend

Nothing to dislike

The place is very clean and comfy. It is in a quiet area perfect for relaxing and recharge in he nature. The yard is green full of trees, and fruita you can eat directly from the source.The pool is very big and nice.

You definetly need a car to get there. It is not something bad, as you need a car to wonder around the island anyway

We were greeted warmly by Gerry and taken to our room. The first thing to notice was how pretty the garden was, how beautiful and large the pool was (with sunbeds and umbrellas) and how clean everything was. Gerry showed us where to park around the back, which had a big sunshade over it, and plenty of room. Our room was bright and airy with a large bathroom. (Body soap, face soap, shampoo and a kit containing sewing stuff and I can't remember what else, and liquid soap, provided). The balcony overlooked the pool and garden and had 2 chairs and a table and clothes airer. There was a small safe, hanging rail and shelving, iron, table top ironing board, kettle, sandwich toaster, coffee machine (pod type), little device for heating things (like a small pan), cafetiere, cutlery, a small sharp knife, dinner plates, side plates, bowls, glasses, cups, washing up liquid, sponge and tea towel. The fridge had a freezing compartment too. The bed was large and comfortable with pillow and mattress protectors - YAY, and a nightstand each side. Also must mention the amazing shutters which made the room super dark! The very good supermarket is a 5 minute walk away. Also a restaurant, café, snack bar type place and bakery all close by. Vardiola, right next to the sea and with a good choice of food, is about a 10 minute walk. There are also a couple of fish restaurants a slightly longer walk away. Orea is situated on the road between Alykes and Tsilivi, the latter being 8 minutes away in the car (we timed it). The bus stop is close by with 2 buses in the morning and 2 in the afternoon, to Zakynthos, costing €1.60. We didn't use it so can't comment on its reliability but judging from the queues at the bus stop, it must get VERY full. All in all we loved it here and were glad to have a car to get out and about. Gerry, you should be proud of your lovely accommodation. Keep up the good work.

These things are personal to me so certainly not anything to knock points off for: The air conditioning, whilst brilliant, had a very bright display for the temperature! It lit the room up like a Christmas tree! I can't sleep in anything other than a dark room (that's why I'm saying this is personal. Hubby carried on snoring!). My solution was to stick a plaster over it. (Which I DID remove!). Problem solved. I live in an extremely quiet road so found the traffic quite intrusive. Also barking dogs and cockerels! But the double glazed doors to the balcony were amazing. So I got the total silence that I'm used to. Yes I'm a bad sleeper so sound and light will not bother other people. Hubby being a prime example! A full length mirror would be useful. Another teaspoon! I'm pretty sure Gerry would have given me one if I'd asked. (When our kettle suddenly stopped working it was replaced within 10 minutes - that's how great he is).
