Samawa Transit Hotel

The best representative hotel in sumbawa city. Breakfast just very very an ordinary. Good location near airport. The room was standart but convenient for rest. Try it when you go to sumbawa. Sabalong samalewa.

Stayed here twice, the first one is on their old part of the hotel and the second one is on their newer part of the hotel. The first stay is not okay, the room is bit dusty, drainage seemed not working properly (left lingering smells so that I have to turn exhaust fan all the time), but the second stay is very okay. Comfortable room, clean bathroom, adequate TV channel.. could not complain anymore.

The hotel is very close to the airport. The hotel decoration is nice the room is good. The service is so-so. I got early check-in but there is no welcome drink and nobody helped to bring my luggage to the room. The breakfast is bad. It's still in the breakfast time, but many dishes is finished. Some guests need to ask so that the food was added. No napkin is available. It is served in a living room/waiting room so, it is not comfortable to eat. The hotel should better provide a local/traditional snack for breakfast to introduce about the local culture.

I stayed at this hotel only one night for business. The hotel location is quite near from airport, about 5 minutes by motorbike. The room is quite nice even though I feel it was a a bit dusty. Hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. They also picked me up from airport to the hotel with hotel car. The breakfast was fine, but probably need to be more varied.

After more than a week in Sumbawa and to that point, very disappointing accommodation, the Samawa Transit Hotel was a breath of fresh air. The rooms are small but well appointed, very clean with comfortable beds and hot showers. The staff were friendly and happy to arrange transport and forward accommodation for us. Room rates were very reasonable and excellent value compared to our previous accommodation in Sumbawa. Meals and drinks in the cafe were good. Look no further in Sumbawa Besar than this hotel.

There is not a lot of choices in Sumbawa Besar but this is a good one. Very near the airport and close to city centre. No pool but all else you'd expect from a mid range hotel. We arrived by boat from Tambora and they were happy to send a car to get us from the beach.

The Samawa Transit hotel is conveniently situated just outside the airport entrance. Sumbawa is an island to be discovered and a great place to start is the Samawa hotel. The hotel,family owned and operated, is very welcoming. The staff is friendly and the rooms comfortable and clean.

Stay in Samawa in 2014 when having a business trip. I really enjoy and like when stay in there. The location is very good and near from the airport also near with the traditional food. The staff very humble and have a great services.

We arrived by sea and got motorbike taxis for 10,000. It was a five minute ride. The hotel is directly across the road from the airport (noise was not an issue). The hotel has a definite colonial feel. Upstairs there are pleasant spots to sit and read a book. There was interesting furniture and objects and I liked being there. We paid about 650,000 for a room with two very big beds. It was clean and comfortable, but a little old with scuff marks and so forth and it was a bit unappealing in the bathroom, but fine. There's no pool. We ate dinner there. It was Ramadan, so perhaps the slow service is explained by the general lack of business and tired staff. The food was quite nice, but nothing special. No beer was available in the hotel (or anywhere else nearby). Breakfast might again have been affected by Ramadan and a shortage of eating guests. It was a buffet, but a bit boring and limited (cold, but tasty omelette, rice, some cereals, coffee, tea, cordial). The WIFI was free and worked extremely well. Laundry was piece by piece so we did not use it. Our only concern was with getting transport. I would have expected a hotel like this to be a bit better organised and helpful. We needed to hire a car and driver to take us three hours west. I've never had problems anywhere in Indonesia organising transport. The night before we asked and were told they did not know how we could get a car. Then the girl behind the desk used her mobile to phone someone, but they couldn't do it. The next morning we asked again and were shown a list of car types and prices. It was about 650,000 plus petrol (we have never paid for petrol) and so we went to ask at the backpackers. We were kept waiting there for 15 minutes and finally a guy showed up who asked for 1,000,000. So we went back to the Transit and said we would take their deal. But in the 30 minutes we had been gone, their "car" - no list anymore - had been taken by another guest. I asked what we should do and was told that we should go to the bus depot. We had luggage and two kids and this was not a good option for us. I needed to push a bit before she tried a few more numbers on her phone and was able to get someone in for 600,000. It was unusual in my travelling experience in Indonesia and you might wish to try to prearrange transport.

The hotel situated at the center of Sumbawa Besar. We were group of 7 motorbikers arrived late at night but the staffs there were very helpful. The room was clean with hot water. The breakfast is OK. It is a good transit hotel. We stayed there 1 night on our way to Sape Ferry harbour.
