Very friendly staff in the hotel and the Toby carvery

Uncomfortable mattress

Good food, location was important for our stay. It was reasonably priced.

Room was next to the kitchen extractor fan. This was a distracting noise as we needed to sleep early. The bedside lights were not working.

We stayed for a ball at the Mercure hotel opposite, room exceeding my expectations for the price.

Nothing, road is not an easy one to cross outside but that doesn't affect the hotel stay.

Breakfast OK, room and bed OK

Carvery didn't have whole potatoes and the Yorkshire puds were done too much and when you tried to cut they crunched up and I couldn't eat them

Use Toby Carvery as a central point every time we visit Hull. Friendly, clean and lovely place to stay. This time we had an incident that required the management to get involved and he couldn't have been more apologetic and helpful. The team were great all round and the manager was amazing. He explained that the incident should never have happened and it was a genuine error then went on to settle our bill accordingly. Was handle very professionally and courteously. We will be back! Thank you for a lovely stay everyone. You always make us feel very welcome and we can't wait to be up North on a permanent basis.

Sadly there was an incident that marred our stay and made us uneasy for our last evening there but it was sorted immediately the following morning and the manager was more than fair. We will definitely return at some point should we need to stay over again in the future. Thank you to Chris and the team for making us feel so very welcome.
