Proximity to the event we were attending

We had no running water in our room at the hotel due to a burst water main the previous day so could not flush the toilet or shower. The manager seemed to regard us as an inconvenience we didn’t know about the issue until we arrived. One minute he was telling us we would have use of the toilet but not the shower then it was the Shower but not the toilet but in reality neither was working. He didn’t offer us any bottled water or a Bucket of water to at least flush the toilet. We had to ask. And then all we got was a few small bottles of water. One lady staff member was helpful but the manager was useless. The hotel generally was a mess. The main toilet off the breakfast room was caked in excrement. I have the photos in case they deny it

Extremely friendly and helpful staff

Very out dated. Clearly hasn't had any money put into it for many years. Single pain windows with a view of the messy back garden which has been left to rot. Tacky canvas pictures are the only new thing in the hotel. Although bedding and towels were clean, room had a bad odor. Expensive stay i expected better

Management and staff were exceptional ! Welcoming and accommodating. Chef Niel is extraordinary preparing the tastiest food.Have visited the Marine Hotel twice and plan to return in the future.

Expérience catastrophique – établissement à fuir. Nous avions réservé une chambre pour 2 adultes et un enfant de 2 ans, information clairement précisée lors de la réservation. À notre arrivée, aucune solution n’était prévue pour notre fille : pas de lit bébé, pas de lit simple, absolument rien. Résultat : mon mari a dû dormir sur un fauteuil pour laisser le lit à notre fille et à moi-même. Inacceptable au vu du prix payé. L’accueil a été extrêmement désagréable. La personne sur place s’est montrée peu aimable et peu professionnelle. Malgré un paiement effectué via Booking, on nous a demandé notre carte bancaire ainsi que notre adresse personnelle en France, ce qui nous a fortement dérangés. Puis vient l’état de la chambre… une vraie stupeur : - Toiles d’araignée sur les murs ; - Draps tachés ; - Fenêtre cassée réparée avec du scotch (inadmissible avec un enfant de 2 ans) ; - Moisissures sur les rideaux et près de la baignoire. Franchement, je ne comprends absolument pas la note attribuée à cet établissement. Les photos et la réalité n’ont rien à voir. Nous avons payé un prix conséquent pour un hébergement qui ne respecte ni les standards d’hygiène, ni le confort minimum attendu. Je déconseille fortement cet établissement, surtout aux familles avec enfants. Très déçus et extrêmement mécontents.

Hotel room was clean and looked like it was recently refurbed I came here for a 1 night stay with my 2 children and the room was pleasant

There was a party on down the stairs that was right above my room myself and my 2 children couldn’t sleep until around 1.30 am as there was loud drunks constantly outside shouting and singing and I could hear the music all night from the party the food from the hotel was pretty poor ordered a chicken curry that was inedible not one bit of chicken that could be eaten as it was just all gristle and fat family members that had booked for the same night said there food was ok but the next day we didn’t stay for breakfast we went elsewhere
