My Ummer and his assistant Mr Sandeep are exceptionally warm people who stay out of your way, yet are always available. The place is a quaint place with all basic requirements and the staff help with anything that's required. We were provided cutlery and a table for food ordered from outside, which was a particularly touching gesture.

We stayed here three times for a total of 8 nights. It represents fantastic value for money and is very close to the airport but only a 150 rupee auto rickshaw fare to Aberdeen Bazar, Cellular Jail etc. There's a spotlessly clean kitchen available with crockery and utensils, fridge, microwave etc. Our room had a kettle for hot drinks. The bed was comfortable, the room spacious and the bathroom impeccably clean. There is both a ceiling fan and aircon in the room and some rooms have access to a balcony. The whole place is fresh and pleasant to be in. Best of all are the staff. They were helpful in booking bus and boat tickets, and arranged for a scooter to be delivered at a reasonable rate. They did all this simply to help us and didn't collect a commission. Manager, Ummer, is both an interesting and interested man and will happily give advice on places to go and things to do. His assistant, Sandeep, was always pleasant and nothing was too much trouble. The best value accommodation we have experienced in 8 months travelling. Highly recommended.

It’s so much value for money that it became one of the best decision I took during the trip. The staff helped in arranging tours and bargained on our behalf. The deals were really good. We had some locals friends for dinner and we were able to host them as if we were home.
