Bailbrook House Hotel, Bath

Staff (kim) were brilliant, very friendly and welcoming. The rooms/bed were very comfortable and the breakfast was very good!

The shower was slightly lacking on pressure but nothing major, and the hotel is slightly further away from the city centre, although on a bus route.

Beautiful building and setting on the outskirts of Bath. The receptionist recommended walking into Bath along the canal, there is a more direct walk but this was away from traffic and took approx 45mins. Taxis approx £10. Excellent breakfast with lots of choice. Free parking.

A quiet location, but although near bus stops there is a steep long drive up to the hotel from the road. Parking is not easy in Bath but the park & ride is easy to drive to from the hotel. The room had nice chairs & table as well as a desk chair & desk, the TV could be swivelled round on its wall bracket to face the chairs. Fresh milk in the fridge with a large glass bottle of still water. Hot chocolate & a range of tea bags. Windows open but there is a/c if needed, heated towel rail in shower room. Food in the bar was nice, breakfast was also good though the breakfast restaurant was not very big and it was a bit of a squeeze.

The reception area though impressive felt a bit deserted (even with a member of staff there), this continued along the main areas. We went to the bar for food & drink, the staff were pleasant and the food reasonably priced but the wine was expensive. The breakfast restaurant was not big enough for the number of residents.

For a grade 2 listed building it felt so cosy, warm and very homely
